Which image formats can I convert between?
JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF can all be converted between each other — e.g., JPG to PNG, PNG to JPG, JPG to WebP, WebP to PNG, JPG to AVIF. Animated GIFs converted to a static format will lose the animation.
Does conversion reduce image quality?
It depends on the target format: converting to lossy formats (JPG, WebP, AVIF) causes minor quality loss (adjustable via quality setting); converting to PNG (lossless) preserves quality. Set quality to 90+ to maximize retention.
Is EXIF metadata preserved?
JPG supports EXIF retention; PNG and WebP typically lose EXIF when converted in the browser. To keep shooting date, camera model, GPS, etc., convert to JPG format.
Can I convert multiple images at once?

What happens to PNG transparency when converting to JPG?
PNG's alpha channel is lost when converting to JPG (JPG does not support transparency); transparent areas default to white. To keep transparency, stick with PNG or convert to WebP (which supports an alpha channel).
